REIKI
Reiki is a Japanese form of energy healing
The word Reiki comes from the Japanese word 'Rei' which means universal life and
'Ki' which means energy
Reiki is the life energy that flows through all living things
The story of the founder of Reiki, Dr Mikao Usui. Born15th Aug1865. He lived in a small village Japan. He had 2 brothers and 1sister. His family were descendants of a famous Samurai clan. His family were 'pure land' and' lotus school' buddhists. His spiritual training included a Japanese form of energy work called Kiko, which involved meditation, breathing exercises and moving exercises similar to Tai Chi and also the technique of healing through the laying of hands.
His career path included working as a journalist, a social worker and a missionary for a Shinto group and then as a private secretary to the statesman Baron Shimpei Goto. In this position, Mikao travelled abroad extensively and met many influential people. He married and had 2 children. He had a business and after moderate success his business started to decline, which lead to financial difficulty. The crisis encouraged Usui to reconnect more deeply with his spiritual aspirations. Around 1919 Usui started a meditation retreat in a Zen temple which lasted 3 years. It was then in March 1922 he decided to climb Mount Kurama a sacred mountain in Japan and spend 21 days fasting and meditating to accelerate his spirituality. Towards the end of the 21 days, Usui had a profoundly transforming experience. He described it as a great light entering through the top of his head, filling his entire being with light and attuning him to an energy that he later called Reiki. It is believed he was endowed with healing hands and came back down the mountain with new found gifts. He began healing himself and others and opened his first Reiki clinic and school in Tokyo in 1922. Before his death in 1926 Mikao Usui had taught Reiki to over two thousand students and trained twenty Reiki masters.

During your Reiki session, you will be required to lie down and I will place crystals on each of your chakra points. I will then use a dowser to establish under active, over active or blockages within the energy centre. I will then place my hands either lighly or just above each area. Energy is then transferred from source through me to you.
You will feel very relaxed throughout and not required to do anything.
You can have 1 session or several, only you will know that. Please note, you may feel shifts after 1 session or sometimes more are required before you start to feel lighter and notice any change.
You are not required to get undressed, I would simply advise something comfortable.
SOUND HEALING AND VIBRATIONAL SOUND THERAPY
Sound Healing is an ancient practice that makes use of singing bowls and chants to aid healing in the body.
Tuning Forks were invented in 1711 by a man named John Shore, at this time the tuning forks were played in church and concert halls. As they vibrated and produced a musical note that was a constant pitch, the fork was then used to tune musical instruments and are currently still used today for this purpose.
It was in the 20th century that tuning forks were applied to bones and muscles to create a vibration to test for neural pathways in the body.
It was in 1960 an English Osteopath named Sir Peter Guy Manners, said to be the father of sound concentrated his work on the use of sound frequencies and the treatment of various diseases.
As refernced in the Senses and Sciences journal, Sound Therapy stimulated the human body's ability to heal.
Today tuning forks are used as a therapeutic method using frequencies produced by the forks to detect and correct distortions and imbalances within the bio-magnetic field. We all have an energetic field that surrounds the human body. Similar to the rings on a tree. Within this field we can carry trauma, loss, grief and memories. Dr Scaer referred to it as a 'trauma capsule'
Our bio-field extends approximately 5 feet on both sides of the body and 3 feet above and the head and below the feet. This field contains records of all our memories, embedded as energy and information.
Our bio-field contains the blue-print of our life, which in turn, our physical body responds too. Traumatic experiences affect us physically, emotionally and mentally and therefore change the waves which oscillate and can cause a breakdown in the order, structure and function of our physiology. This can cause dis-ease within the body.
The tuning forks are placed or combed on or around the body on various meridian points, chakras and energy centres. The vibrational frequency from the fork will increase energy flow into the body, which will in turn, improve circulation, lower the heart rate, have a positive effect on blood pressure and are therefore a great alternative when dealing with stress, anxiety, sleep disorders and PTSD. Tuning forks remove blocked energy and began the healing process. Studies have also suggested tuning forks can relieve bone and muscle pain.
